Albarino Spain £27.95 £7.50
A delicious, aromatic Albarino with an abundance of peachy, lime zest fruit on the nose. The palate is fresh and vibrant but with more weight and concentration than most examples of the grapes. Jasmine, apricot, lemon, nectarine and lime are all present and correct.
Pouilly-Fuisse la croix, Domaine-Denogent, 2007 France £37.95
Jean Jacques Robert is the king of Pouilly-Fuisse and his wines are more than a match for all but the best from Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet. This is rich and buttery and a perfect food white. In contrast to the expressiveness of the prior wines, this is restrained with pure and airy aromas of white peach and lemon that are more elegant but less complex but are very much in keeping with the silky, precise, stony and harmonious flavors that are beautifully balanced and long where a touch of wood toast arrives on the finish.
Puligny-Montrachet, les Enseigneres, Domaine Roux, 2008 France £55.95
Elegant oak-cask aged Chardonnay with rich flavours of ripe apple, lemon and tropical fruits with a hint of vanilla. It's a well rounded and elegant white wine with a complex nose dominated by exotic aromas. This Puligny Montrachet is extremely well balanced with a long lasting finish. It combines grace with a well defined character and remarkable concentration.

Ripe and rounded with plum, bramble jelly and blackcurrant fruit. Rounded and smooth, it is medium to full bodied with soft tannins and a long, fresh finish.
Chateauneuf du pape, 2008 France £42.95
A full-bodied, peppery, garrigue-dominated effort with loads of black currant and cherry fruit, there is no evidence of new oak, but it possesses plenty of glycerin along with low acidity. Very complex! Using a traditional wine-making process with delestage and remontage for 3/4 weeks in concrete vats. Part of the wine is aged for 18 months in concrete vats and the rest in French oak barrels. Not fined but lightly filtered before bottling and then aged for a further 6 months before release.
Ceretto Barolo Zonchera, 2006 Italy £52.95
Soft, velvety Barolo, with fewer tannins than many of its peers. Well-balanced and ripe with savoury cherry and blackberry fruit, some classic tar, roses and a savoury, leathery edge on the long finish. The wine is crushed and destemmed, and macerated for 13 days on its skins with fermentation at 28 °C lasting for 8 days. It is aged for 32 months in French oak barrels

Champagne/Sparkling Wine

Dom Perignon Vintage 2002 France £100.00
Produced only in the finest vintages, Dom Perignon is Moet et Chandon's prestige cuvee Champagne. Usually a blend of half-and-half Pinot Noir and Chardonnay (give or take a few per cent here or there), it is rightly regarded as one of the very finest Champagnes, with the ability to age gracefully over many years. Extraordinarily firm, confident, intense nose. Definitely the savoury side of Dom, broad and long with a hint of orange peel. Great persistence.
